Year 5 & 6 made models of the planets within our solar system using paper mache. Given the beautiful weather, we decided to make this on the yard which was lovely until the breeze increased and there was paper everywhere to pick up!

Liam and Grace played the parts of the first book spies very well!
Tall Ships Project
Year 5 have been working with the Tall Ships Project to create a ship to be displayed during the Tall Ships Race. It is not yet finished but all the children are enjoying the project. Everyone contributed to the ideas and what materials and techniques should be used. We are all looking forward to see the finished product!
Foot and Mouth painters
Year 5 have been exploring the work of the Foot and Mouth painters during their lessons in art. Whilst learning various painting techniques to paint the Bayeux Tapestry, they also found out what it would be like to use their mouths and feet to paint. They had a lot of fun but realised how hard it was to paint accurately using anything other than their hands.
Lions of Zululand
Year 5 children had a lovely day at Hetton School where they met and worked with the Lions of Zululand. They learnt about the Zulu language, culture and traditions. They learnt a traditional Zulu song and dance. Great fun was had by all!
