Class 4 have been learning about the music from Mexico using instruments and learning a dance-they had great fun!
The children from Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed another fun day with Theatre Space North East. They found out more about the Maya Gods and how the Maya people lived. They even learnt how to weave depicting Maya patterns
On Friday 20th October we explored what shapes make up 3D shapes-these are called nets. Once we worked them out we had great fun challenging each other with the nets of shapes. We cut them out after our partners guessed what shape they would be.
Place Value Maths
We were learning about place value with larger numbers in year 5 so decided to use the hall to help us. It was much easier to see the grid on the floor when we were deciding which column the numbers were in.
The children have been thinking about what they like about their school after listening to Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall. They made their own bricks to describe their school and thought about what school means to them. We discussed how some children are not able to attend school and the opportunities and experiences they may miss. We talked about the benefits of attending school not only for all the learning we do but also for making friends and learning about other cultures, traditions and hobbies.
